The Golden Dorsett apple tree produces a medium sized, firm, and sweet apple that is perfect for eating fresh off the tree. The fruit is a soft yellow with a pink blush, has good flavor and ripen in late June. After the apples are picked, they can be kept for two weeks if refrigerated. The Golden Dorsett apple is perfect for southern planting. It requires only 250 chill hours but does need a pollinator to fruit. Expect the tree to begin bearing in 5 years. The Golden Dorsett Apple trees prefer full sun and slightly acidic soil. At maturity it can reach a height and width between 18-20 feet. The Golden Dorsett apple can be pollinated by the Anna or the Ein Shemer apple. It is cold hardy in Zones 6-9. The tree is shipped in a #5 pot with an average height of 24-36 inches.
